Significance of Salutation in Hinduism

Salutation is a way of greeting and in Hinduism, we use the word ‘Namaste’.

Namaste in Hinduism

This word is the combination of two words, Namas and Te. Namas means ‘obeisance’ and ‘Salutation’ and Te means ‘to you’. The whole word ‘Namaste’ signifies ‘bowing to you’. While saying Namaste, you must bow down slightly. It implies to ‘I bow to the divine in you’. It is also called that it is associated with ‘brow chakra’ (the mind center or the third eye).

In Hinduism, this Salute is a great way to express love and respect for others. In religious rituals and yoga postures, Salutation is an integral part. By Salutation, we establish a gracious connection with other people.
