It was a bright Saturday morning, and I was craving a break from Chandigarh’s hustle. I wanted mountains, peace, and a little adventure all without spending much. That’s when I decided on Solan, the “Mushroom City of Himachal.” Just 70 km away, it promised hills, temples, rivers, and bustling local markets.

Learn more here: My first trip to Chandigarh

I started my journey from Old Panchkula, catching a bus to Solan for just ₹141. The ride was a treat; the rolling hills, quaint villages, and crisp mountain air made the hour-long trip feel like a mini adventure. Upon reaching Solan, I hopped onto a local bus to Jatoli Temple for under ₹20, winding through lush greenery along the way.

Reaching the Jatoli Shiv Temple, I was awestruck. This architectural marvel, located in Solan, was completed over nearly 39 years and is dedicated to Lord Mahadev. Devotees and travelers alike come here for Dershan, meditation, and photography. Sitting quietly in the serene hilltop surroundings, I felt a deep sense of calm and reflection. The temple’s peaceful vibe and green backdrop made it an ideal spot to recharge spiritually.

After soaking in the temple’s aura, I wandered to Mohan Shakti Heritage Park. Its gardens, statues, and walking paths made it a perfect place to stroll, breathe, and enjoy nature. Later, I found a quiet riverside spot nearby the gentle flow of water added to the day’s serenity.

Of course, no Solan trip is complete without exploring the local markets. I picked up Himachali handicrafts, woolens, and souvenirs for under ₹200. Street food here is a must-try: momos for ₹50, siddu for ₹30, and fresh local juices. I also discovered mushroom products and local honey, perfect little keepsakes. Haggling with shopkeepers was fun and made the experience feel even more local.

I couldn’t resist exploring hidden gems: the hilltop Shoolini Mata Temple, the charming streets of Kasauli just 30 minutes away, and the Chetwoode Hall ruins, a colonial relic perfect for photos. A quick stop at a local tea stall gave me a warm cup of chai while enjoying breathtaking hill views.

Finally, I ended the day watching the sunset over Solan’s hills. The sky glowed orange and pink, the breeze was fresh, and the calm mountains made all the city stress disappear. Sitting there in peace, I realized how fulfilling a simple, budget-friendly trip could be.

By the evening, on my bus ride back to Chandigarh, I felt completely rejuvenated. Solan had given me temples, markets, rivers, parks, hidden gems, and unforgettable sunsets all without spending much. It proved that adventure, peace, and style don’t require a big budget, just a little planning and a love for exploration.

Imagine this: one story, told the right way, can make someone rethink a long-held belief, feel deeply, or even change a habit forever. Sounds like magic? It’s not. In 2026, storytelling isn’t just art; it’s science, strategy, and influence combined.

Learn more here: How I fight with my fear?

Why Stories Beat Facts Every Time

We live in an age of information overload. Data is everywhere, but few remember statistics. Why? Because humans don’t respond to numbers, they respond to narratives. Stories trigger chemicals in the brain: dopamine sparks attention, oxytocin creates empathy, and cortisol builds suspense. When these chemicals flood your system, you’re not just hearing a story; you’re feeling it, living it.

That’s why stories shape minds. When someone relates to a narrative, they lower defenses, consider new perspectives, and let ideas sink in deeply. In 2026, thought leaders, creators, and brands are using this principle to spark real change.

Touch Hearts, Inspire Action

Stories have the power to touch hearts like nothing else. Whether it’s a personal journey of triumph, a customer’s transformation, or a micro-story on social media, emotion drives connection. In a world dominated by screens, audiences crave authenticity. They share stories that make them feel something, not just inform them.

Think about viral campaigns: it’s never the ads with facts that explode, it’s the ones that make you laugh, cry, or cheer. That emotional hook is your ticket to influence.

Change Habits Through Relatable Narratives

Want people to act? Show them the journey, not just the goal. In 2026, storytelling is a tool to reshape habits, from fitness apps turning workouts into epic challenges to sustainability campaigns that make eco-conscious choices feel heroic. People adopt behaviors when they see themselves in the story, not when they’re told what to do.

5 Ways to Master Storytelling in 2026

Hook them fast: Start with a surprise, conflict, or bold question.

Make it relatable: Your audience should see themselves in the story.

Show transformation: Conflict → struggle → solution creates emotional arcs.

Add urgency: Tie the story to today’s trends, problems, or desires.

Use new formats: Short-form video, AR/VR storytelling, interactive posts—these dominate engagement in 2026.

Why You Can’t Ignore Storytelling

In 2026, storytelling isn’t optional; it’s essential for anyone who wants to influence, inspire, or sell. Facts inform, but stories transform. Minds open. Hearts feel. Habits shift. And the best part? Anyone can do it, starting with the story only you can tell.

Your story could be the spark that changes someone’s life. Why wait to tell it?

In the fast-paced, digital world we live in, the simple tradition of bedtime stories can be one of the most impactful ways to shape a child’s emotional intelligence and intellectual curiosity. While technology often dominates our children’s attention, there is still a timeless, powerful tool at our disposal — bedtime storytelling.

In India, we have a treasure trove of stories from mythology, history, and sacred places that can teach our children not just about morals but also about the deeper meanings of life, wisdom, and spirituality. Whether it’s the story of a god, a saint, or the history of sacred temples, these stories offer valuable life lessons that can make kids not just smarter, but also more compassionate and thoughtful.

1. The Wisdom of Indian Gods and Goddesses

While many Indian families are familiar with the stories of Lord Vishnu, Shiva, Durga, and others, each of these deities represents much more than divine power. They symbolize virtues such as wisdom, courage, humility, and balance — qualities every parent wants their child to learn.

For example, the story of Lord Krishna and his clever ways of outwitting evil teaches children about problem-solving and wisdom. Similarly, the story of Lord Rama from the Ramayana — with his unwavering commitment to righteousness — provides an excellent lesson in duty and integrity.

Moral Insight: True intelligence is a balance of wisdom, bravery, and compassion.

2. Sacred Temples: Stories of Divine Manifestations

India is home to thousands of temples, many of which have their own rich legends of divine manifestations. These stories are a source of spiritual wisdom and also highlight themes like faith, dedication, and sacrifice — all of which can help shape a child’s character.

Pandharpur and the Story of Lord Vithoba

The Pandharpur Temple in Maharashtra is dedicated to Lord Vithoba (Vittal), a form of Lord Krishna. The temple’s story is rooted in faith and devotion. The tale of Sant Tukaram and his unwavering love for Vithoba, despite facing immense hardships, shows how love and devotion can overcome even the toughest challenges.

Tirupati Venkateswara Temple – A Tale of Blessings

The Tirupati Balaji Temple is another sacred site that’s home to a fascinating story of the Lord Venkateswara, whose deity is said to have appeared to save the world from calamity. The story teaches children about the power of selfless service and how every good deed is eventually rewarded.

Moral Insight: Faith and selflessness lead to true spiritual growth.

3. The Story of Dwarkadhish – Lord Krishna’s Divine Kingdom

Dwarka, the city founded by Lord Krishna, carries its own fascinating legends. The most important lesson here is about leadership, strength, and the importance of family. Krishna’s relationships with his family members, friends, and subjects highlight the importance of compassion in leadership.

Moral Insight: True strength lies in kindness, leadership, and mutual respect.

3. The Power of Karma: Understanding Cause and Effect

One of the most significant teachings in Indian mythology is the law of karma — the belief that every action has consequences. Stories from the Mahabharata and Ramayana are filled with moral lessons about the importance of making good choices.

For instance, the story of King Harishchandra teaches us about truth and sacrifice. His unwavering commitment to truth, even when faced with immense personal loss, underscores the idea that good deeds always bear fruit, even in the most challenging times.

Moral Insight: Our actions shape our destiny — choose wisely, live with integrity.

4. Stories of Ordinary People Who Did Extraordinary Things

Indian mythology is not just about gods and temples — it’s also about real-life heroes who did extraordinary things through determination and hard work. Swami Vivekananda, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and Rani Lakshmi Bai are just a few examples of figures whose lives can inspire children to think big and dream high.

The story of Swami Vivekananda’s journey from a humble beginning to becoming one of India’s greatest spiritual leaders teaches the value of education, perseverance, and self-belief.

How These Stories Make Kids Smarter, Kinder, and Stronger

Bedtime stories based on Indian mythology, temples, and real-life heroes don’t just entertain — they teach life lessons that stick with children long after the story is over. Through these stories, children learn about:

Ethics and Morality: What is right and wrong, and the consequences of our actions.

Emotional Intelligence: How to understand and manage their emotions, develop empathy, and connect with others.

Cultural Identity: A deeper appreciation for their heritage, spirituality, and history.

Problem-Solving and Resilience: How to navigate life’s challenges with intelligence, compassion, and courage.

These timeless lessons foster critical thinking, self-awareness, and a sense of purpose in children — essential traits for becoming not just smart, but wise individuals.

Final Thoughts

In a world where children are often distracted by screens and the noise of modern life, there’s something incredibly valuable in the simplicity of a bedtime story. Whether it’s a tale of gods, saints, or heroes, these stories have the power to nurture not only the intellect but also the spirit.

By sharing stories of faith, wisdom, and virtue, parents can help shape a generation of children who are smarter, kinder, and more connected to the world around them. So, tonight, instead of a TV show, share a story that sparks curiosity, instills values, and shapes your child’s future.

Let every bedtime be a lesson in love, faith, and wisdom.

There can be many things that scare you, everyone had once in their life going through something that scares them. That scary things and the anxieties convert into fear. I have been through many scary things in my life that mentally disturb me. It is very tough for a person to overcome through all these negative things and live a positive life.

When you are suffering from any kind of psychological disorders it is very difficult to gain the self-confidence and face the reality. I use to be a shy kid from childhood, this creates many problems in my life. I use to be trouble with many thoughts that are not real. When I grew up I still fear from opening up with people and getting out in the world.

My lack of confidence and low self-esteem cause trouble for me. But then I realize that this is not going to help me out if I want to live a positive life, so I decide to cope up with this problem and gain my confidence back.

How I fight with my fear and Anxiety

So here I am going to share some tips with you that will help you to fight with your fears and anxieties like they work for me.

Take time out

It is very difficult to think when you are flooded with fear and anxiety. It is next to impossible for people to think right surrounded with this feeling. The most important thing to do at that time is to take time out, it will calm you physically.

To distract myself from fear and anxiety I usually start walking and engage myself in other activities .like making teas or coffee.

Face your fears

Avoiding the problems make them bigger. Same is for fear, I learn one thing from my experience is that avoiding the fears only makes them scarier. Whatever your fear, start facing it and you will check that it starts fading. If you panic about getting into a lift, for example, it’s best to get back into a lift and conquer the fear.

Imagine the worst

Try imagining the worst thing that can happen. Perhaps it’s panicking and having a heart attack but try to think the worst scenario. The fear will run more away, the more you chase it.

Don’t try to be perfect

Having a perfect life is impossible. Life is full of stresses. Bad days and setbacks happen they are phases of life, and it’s important to remember that life is messy. After every sunset, there is always sunrise. Don’t panic, just enjoy the flow.

Breathe through panic

The most common problem is a panic attack. To fight with your fear just try to stay away from the places that may cause the panic attack. I will tell you that how I face such kind of conditions, I just place the palm on the stomach and breathe slowly and deeply. This works great for me. The main goal is to help the mind get used to coping with panic and it automatically takes the fear away.

Go back to basics

It is seen people often start drugs or alcohol to treat anxiety and fear. This makes the conditions and situation worse. Don’t do that, just try to have a good night sleep. Go back to basics and have the wholesome meal.

Talk about it

The most important factor that helps me out to cure my fear is sharing. Sharing the fears and talk with people can help you most. Talk to your friend or family, because after all family is the only thing that will always be there for you.

Try to figure out what are the things that are causing the fear and anxiety problem to you. If you can find out the main reason behind the problem then it will be easier for you to fight out. This is how I fight with my fear, hope this will help you out!

Well, it was my first visit to Chandigarh. Honestly, I must say, Chandigarh is one of the most beautiful cities of India. Chandigarh was a stop for me on my vacation to Manali. The journey started from Mumbai with a direct flight to Delhi. I got a cab deal from Yatra to Chandigarh which took around four hours.

You can take a direct train, flight or choose for private or government buses to reach Chandigarh from Delhi. We reached Chandigarh by 6 pm in the evening and checked into Shivalik View in Sector 17. The stay was relaxing and good. Since I already planned a schedule for the next day, so it was time to sleep.

Next morning, it was time to get going. We took a cab from Sector 17.

Chandigarh is the first planned city in India and one of the cleanest and greenest of all cities. This beautiful city was designed by Le Corbusier with open spaces that offer a natural respite from its concrete buildings. Its parks, lakes and gardens make it an ideal city for browsing the great outdoors.

Our first stop was the famous Rock Garden which is in sector 11.

A perfect example of imagination, creativity and innovation, Chandigarh’s rock garden is one of its kind which includes various kinds of art objects. The best fact about the Rock Garden is that each of its artwork has been made by using urban and industrial waste. The innovative Rock Garden was founded by Nek Chand in 1957 and spreads across 40 acres. The sculptures resemble humans and animals, and some are the great epitome of abstract art.

Near to Rock Garden is Sukhna Lake which is around 5 to 10 minutes’ drive.

The unique part about the lake is that it is a man-made. The lake is 3km long and was created in 1958. People visit this lake in the morning to enjoy the beauty of nature and cool breeze. It serves as a great picnic spot and the best place for pursuing water and sports activities. There are a lot of eating options that includes the famous and delicious pani puri with different flavours.

Next spot was the famous Open Hand Monument which was near 3.5 km from Sukhna Lake on the other side of Rock Garden.

The Open Hand Monument is the city’s official emblem and was designed by Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. It was a symbol of peace and reconciliation. The giant hand is made from metals sheets which rotate like a weathercock and indicating the wind direction.

Just close by is the Capitol Complex which is popular for its structural and architectural beauty.

The Capitol Complex is also referred to as Le Corbusier Centre. It was used by the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and now it has been converted into a grand museum for tourists.

Check: TOP 5 BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN INDIA

Our next spot was grand Rose Garden in Sector 16.

One should visit Rose Garden to witness the beautiful gardens of the city. Rose Garden is a place to enjoy, relax nature at its best. It exhibits some of the exquisite and rarest varieties of roses which is spread across 30 acres of land with 1600 several species. The park not only has roses but also trees of medicinal value. The park hosts an annual rose festival, a major cultural program in Chandigarh during the timeframe of February March.

Near to Rose Garden is the Government Museum and Art Gallery

All art lovers should visit for a delightful experience at the Government Museum and Art Gallery. It has exquisite pieces of artwork and some unique creations that will leave you spellbound.

Visit: 10 best places in India to celebrate New Year in 2019

The next stop was International Doll Museum in Sector 23 with 10 minutes’ drive.

It was founded by the Indian Council of Child Welfare in the year 1985. The museum contains a broad collection of fascinating puppets and dolls brought from different countries that stand beside the great Indian collection.

Well, it was a very long day and we finally want for the largest mall in the Chandigarh — Elante Mall.

Elante is considered to be one of the greatest malls in Northern India. We got a glance of the Chandigarh locals and enjoyed the ambience and food around before we began our overnight bus ride to Manali.

As we had only one day to explore all parts of the city. For your planning, you can add attractions like leisure valley, terraced garden, musical fountain and many more in your travel journey and make the most of your visit.
